TIPS
Calling
| Call length not strength (call your longest suit not the suit with high cards in) | |
| Stop as low as possible unless you think that between you, you have strength to make game call (26 points is thought necessary for game) | |
| A change of suit is forcing for one round (if your partner calls a different suit you must make another bid) No-Trumps is never forcing | |
| Target To get a game call (100 scoring points) you normally need 26 or more points | |
| A game call is 3NT, 4H, 4S, 5C, 5D | |
| Consider calling a small slam if you can see 32 points between the two hands or have a long suit and voids. |
