10 Brickwork

The bricklaying and inside blockwork has progressed over many weeks with a large team of skilled workmen on site.

Regular deliveries of bricks and block supplied the team but also created a shortage of storage space on the site.

The large silo emptied ready mixed mortar into barrows which were wheeled over to the waiting bricklayers.

The first levels of brickwork were carefully measured and laid in place. Fortunately the weather remained fine and there was little delay.

The walls grew speedily. Brick colour was chosen to match the church, with columns of darker brick to compliment the vestibule walls.
