22.  Church Alterations

Major alterations have also been made to the main church building.

Our church was heated by radiant gas heaters on the walls above the arches.  They were outdated and inefficient.  Heads were hot and feet cold.

After  much discussion, hot water radiators were installed on nave, chancel and side aisle walls, served by a gas fired boiler in the undercroft.

Two sets of double doors were constructed in the church west wall to connect the nave to the new facilities.  Decoration is not complete.

The church roof needed repair at the high point of the front gable end.  Battens were replaced, ridge tiles supported, and some new tiles put in place.
